GSO-4.7 Secret Steel

This particular GSO-4.7 model is an oddity in the SURVIVE! line-up.  It doesn't quite fit in anywhere, as the steel being used is new to SURVIVE! and relatively uncommon in the knife industry.  This model was originally intended to be part of the SURVIVE! SK Series but by the time these finished production, the plan for that series had evolved.  We will be selling them as GSO knives but still in the style of the old SK Series, with a lower price and limited options. 

So far we have been really happy with the performance of this steel and would like to offer it as an additional option for some of the models in the GSO Series.  But first, we want to know what you think of it.  Since preordering was not an option when the knives started production, we are making some of them available for presale now.  The materials are here but the blades still need Cerakoted, and we need a chance to get the regular GSO-4.7 preorders fulfilled.  These orders will be on the schedule to ship out at the end of May.

The GSO-4.7 is full-sized knife that is designed to take on a wide variety of tasks.  The secret steel variant cuts the price by making use of less expensive materials and reducing options.  Because this means the SURVIVE! Workshop can get them built faster, they are pre-built and ready to ship once you place your order.  The steel is a 1% carbon steel and as such they are all Cerakoted in order to protect them from corrosion.  The coating is Austrian FDE Cerakote done by local company, Sowastrong Industries.  The GSO-4.7 Secret Steel is built with black or natural brown canvas handles and tumbled fasteners, and comes with our standard black kydex sheath.

A bit about the steel used in SURVIVE! Knives:

The steel for this model is going to be tested by several SURVIVE! customers.  In order to keep their feedback unbiased the steel type will remain a mystery until we hear back from those folks.  We will reveal the steel type on April 22nd!
