Description

While working on fulfilling existing GSO-4.1 orders, we occasionally come across blades with cosmetic defects.  Those will be made available here as Factory 2nds.  Please see our Production Schedule page for current estimated delivery times.  Because of the minor cosmetic defects, GSO-4.1 Factory 2nds are sold at a 10% discount.

Working with over two years of user feedback on this model, 2015 is bringing some very subtle but exciting changes to the popular SURVIVE! GSO-4.1. We've deepened the finger pocket just a bit and enhanced the handle profile contouring for improved retention and control over the knife. The handle has been lengthened slightly for greater comfort and to increase the user compatibility range. Lastly, we are moving from a skeletonized tang to a solid tang on the GSO-4.1.

The SURVIVE! GSO-4.1 is a lightweight, highly versatile knife, capable of tackling most any cutting chore with ease. One of our smaller full sized fixed blades, the GSO-4.1 provides outstanding comfort, strength and utility in a package that won't weigh you down.

Our high quality Torx T-25 style fasteners are precision machined from 416 stainless steel.  Key features of the kydex sheaths include: excellent retention, drain channels, and several attachment options with slots and eyelets, in addition to the kydex clip.  The peened finish on the blade provides extra durability and is non-reflective.  The spine is sharp enough for use with most ferro rods.

Disclaimer:
- You are not required to purchase a kydex sheath with your order but it is HIGHLY recommended that you do so.
- Order cancellations will be charged a 10% restocking fee.

A bit about the steel used in SURVIVE! Knives:

CPM-3V is a high alloyed tool steel, made using the Crucible Particle Metallurgy process, that has a very high impact toughness and excellent edge holding. Being made with the CPM process, this steel is also very resistant to lateral stress (flex) breakage, making it a perfect choice for a high performance, hard use knife. CPM-3V is not a stainless alloy and can stain if not cared for.  Check out the CPM-3V Data Sheet.

CPM-20CV is a very high quality martensitic stainless steel, with outstanding corrosion resistance and excellent edge holding. CPM-20CV does lack the impact toughness of CPM-3V but being made with the CPM process, this steel is still very resistant to lateral stress (flex) breakage. Consider CPM-20CV for a very low maintenance, all weather cutting tool.  Here is the CPM-20CV Data Sheet.

Love the new Gen 4.1!

I own quite a few SK! and other high quality fixed blades. The 4.1 in D3V is now my primary outdoors knife. I like the upgrades to the ergonomics of the handles, longer blade length, and slight change to the blade geometry. The new Delta heat treat is awesome with more corrosion resistance to the Gen 1's. It's a perfect size blade for hiking, backpacking, camping, hunting, etc. As always the Factory 2nds have very minor blemishes. The only downside is waiting to get one of these masterpieces in your hands.
